Fifteen minutes of fame –Andy Warhol and Indian Election 2014

Fifteen minutes of fame –Andy Warhol and Indian Election 2014

Business tycoons from all over the world are eyeing towards the elections of India. 2009 to 2013 has been a lull period for Sensex and industry. Many political and economic times critics have shouted their lungs out for the glorious landscape of India. No denying the fact that countries with more than 1.25 billion population, who consume many FMCG products every day, come what may; consumption will continue. Our daily consumption cannot be a parameter of our industrial growth. Productive population and government policies are what matter. Business tycoons seek stable government and its clear policies.  The current GOI is a union of many parties and is an alliance. Opposition is also strong with spear head campaign.
It is a particular type of government which is helpless to its alliance and to their opposition. As we practice democracy we need to get sanctioned any bill with strong mandate. Thanks to our legendary business families who have flourished varied business across India. Indian economy is still strong due to our judicious financial policy. What we need today is a stable government. People may think how this government will help them? It is a million dollar question. As recently many scams and scandals have made the headline. The doubt about any political party’s intention is very likely. I would like to extend reader’s doubt (non readers never find doubt). Just give a fact to a sheer business landscape.   Invariably today we find many ‘A’ group company shares are at their lowest price. Banking sector which is considerably to be a pivotal sector of any economy is down from last three years. Industry will grow, only when banking sector will grow. All government banks and private sector banks are dependent on business houses to grow. They are interlinked. It is politicians who make trade policies and policies for business and finance. These policies run these sectors.
As Indian national one may think how this election does matter to one? It does matter. The parties they choose for voting make government and that government makes decision. We have witnessed the price rise in every sector. It is due to the people who didn’t vote or people who vote wrong person or parties. Prices of petrol and diesel are closely linked with every commodity. We have seen milk which is near to 50rs. a liter, Chawal which is not less than 30rs. a k.g. and ground nuts which is near to 80rs. Fruits and vegetables are touching the sky high. Just give a thought, how a person who earns and spends from unorganized sector in India. Who are more than 50%, how will they live? I am not here to propagate any newly formed political party which has all new faces with doubts. I want to make clear the importance of one vote.
Online media and electronic media are busy in increasing the TRP or getting the hits. Every evening we see many pseudo intellectual debates of politics and future of India. Any discussion or any advertisement will not write the fate of India. It is there in your hand. Headlines proved that youth of today is attached with one ‘baba’ and ‘young-party’. Winning one election of state and making a head line in news paper will only generate party fund. Today’s youth who do not read more than one news paper will go crazy for them. It is the biggest mistake. This is the time. Understand. We as India need any strong government, may it be any political party.
Web portals like equity master.com, afaqs.com and researchandmarket.com claim the growth of Indian industry. Business houses from India and abroad are looking for an opportunity to earn money. This election will be a great chance for them. Industry which is hungry from last four years will expect a lot from this election.
Advertising Guru have already stated in many case studies for explaining the potential of regional market of India. Many media houses have en-cashed it.  Regional channel, regional food, fashion, news, and regional politics or political party has become more than a fashion. Today it has acquired distinctive status. Regional political heroes with marginal fame take help of social media which is strong in regional circle and generate the magic of group communication.
Andy Warhall who once said, “There will be a time, when everybody will be famous for 15 minutes.” English as a language has got a phrase out of it: ‘Warholian Fame’. Today when Asian Age flashed news ‘11 parties offer alternative’ made us think on these lines. Many parties offer many options to voters. Voters are wooed by their fake promises or much hyped charisma. One has seen a macro economics. How a small or newly formed regional or that way multi-state party will win the election and if at all it wins then how can they have their own strong government?  If ‘2014 elections’ offers us any allied government then nobody can save us. Issues of price rise, poor health, poor infrastructure and development are going to nag us down. It is a last chance that we have in our hand, think twice before casting a vote.
